Beavertail Lighthouse
Pen and Ink Drawing 5x7" nfs
This is a recent drawing done with a
felt tip marker pen in my sketchbook
from a recent painting trip to one of the
most paintable locales in Rhode Island,
the lighthouse at the northern end of
Jamestown Island. Ocean currents
from two opposing directions off the
Atlantic converge at the point upon this
lighthouse stands, giving an odd vee
formation of merging surf below a
vantage point on the other side of the
lighthouse tower. Beavertail is a place
worth visiting on a trip to the Newport
area, especially when there has been
a storm and the waves are high.
Beautiful sunsets too.
