I do a painting of myself in one media or
another each year, a practice I've followed
around the time of my birthday. My motive is
to track my face's progress through the
years. Flattery is the last result of such an
effort--as may be painfully evident in what
most people find to be a reasonable
likeness. Still, I believe it's more welcoming
to show what your host on a website looks
like, and what better way for an artist to do
so than with a piece of his handiwork. So,
here I am, blotches and splotches and all.
