This little oil was done plein air and alla
prima from where we stay on Block
Island on an annual painting working
vacation withartist friends. I am grateful
for having the chance to share and
learn from each of them in their own
way: all painters, but one, Mary Lea,
also an accomplished professional
violinist, another. Barbara Baker-Bury,
a counselor, our lead artist, Susan
Shaw, a fine potter and master
gardener among many other talents,
and of course, my dear wife and fellow
painter, Gail Armstrong.
