Snowy Street at Twilight

This winter scene was done near our
home in Rhode Island after a
snowstorm. In those moments nearing
sunset, a lovely purpling light in the
sky tinted the cloud cover and snow.
Lights in the windows of the houses
were coming on too, twinkling in the
distance, and all was still. Many people
who've seen the painting have
complimented me, for which I am
pleased. To me its a strangely warming
picture, telling a kind of a story about a
time and place experienced here in
New England, and elsewhere as well,
I'm sure.
