Wildflowers and Spring Fields
oil  5x7" and framed

One of a pair of scenes of Vermont in
the Springtime that I did, the other of
which sold before I had a chance to
photograph it. Ah, the best laid plans.
Anyway, this little painting and its twin
portrayed a typical part of rural New
England, which happens to be near
Lake Champlain where my wife's
extended family have a summer home.
We walk along crunchy gravel paths
overlooking such lovely sights--the
clumps of colorful vegetation buzzing
with honeybees, blue skies full of soft
clouds, the greening trees and
landscape, fields newly plowed--which
are also fragrant with all the odors
farmers love, some of which visitors
need time to appreciate.
