My wife and I have many fond
impressions of Block Island, located
about an hour's ferry ride off the coast
of Rhode Island. This oil is of a place
along the eastern coastline. We'd
walked out from the town along a
shore road, and came upon this lone
house and abandoned rowboat
overlooking a kind of tidal estuary.
They seemed kindred spirits to me,
keeping each other company in the
twilight. A painting is a kind of memory
maker and keeper, I believe. I trust the
buyers will see and find in it memories
of their own.
